                   About the Researcher

Georgianna is a third year doctoral student at Capella University. She has attended Capella University since 2008.  Completing a Masters in Human Services with a 4.00 GPA in 2010.  She elected to begin a doctoral program concentrated in Public Health Leadership immediately after graduate school. Aware of her calling to do work that would fulfill her purpose to serve people through advocacy; she knew for her dissertation topic- Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) was the right work!

After researching FXS for approximately two years she wanted to find and contribute valuable FXS information to the Public Health community. Information that can help minority children and families with FXS realize the greatest quality of life. Asking questions and providing answers that are missing from the literature drives her research. Discovering what minorities affected by the issue really need is her passion.

As a mother of two middle school age boys, both identified with learning disabilities; Georgianna has worked for many years helping her own children to perform socially, emotionally, and academically. She is an avid learner, researcher, and student of Public Health.
